A friend just sent me this great video. It really helps put into perspective how we often view ourselves in this world. And how badly we need to give ourselves a little shake.

Recently I was at Indigo and as I was leaving I saw a bunch of books that were stacked Costco style. A book caught my eye, The Dream by Gurbaksh Chahal.
Here is a brief synopsis from Amazon.
Gurbaksh Chahal started the Internet advertising company ClickAgents
from his bedroom at the age of 16, having emigrated to the United
States with his Sikh family from the small town of Tarn Taran, India.
He dropped out of high school to pursue the venture full-time, and two
years later sold ClickAgents for $40 million, making him one of the
youngest self-made millionaires in history and allowing him and his
entire family to realize their dreams. Chahal went on to become the
youngest executive of a multi-billion dollar NASDAQ-listed company, and
then sold his second company, BlueLithium, to Yahoo! for $300 million,
turning many of his employees into multi-millionaires as well.
I stayed standing in the same spot for an hour and finished reading the book. I wont say that it was phenomenally written, I can’t even say there was anything original about his approach and information.
But there was one thing that you could feel when reading the book. His incredible BELIEF in himself. He believed he could obtain his goal and he went for it. Any setbacks along the way were just short term. He had a dream and he WAS going to realize it.
Three Classics that I enjoy re-reading are:
Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
The Power of Positive Thinking – Dr.Norman Vincent Peale
The Magic of Thinking Big – Dr. David Schwartz
The essence of all three books – If you can Believe and Perceive, you can achieve.
The rest is commentary.
With out a belief in yourself and your ability to reach your goals, all the tool and tips in the world wont help you.
It is a powerful belief in yourself that gives you the power to perceive the possibilities that are there for you to access and achieve that which you desire.
When I see the explosion of successes on the web, I can truly sense that belief. In the bricks and mortar world it is rare to see people doing the exact same thing right next to each other. For most it wouldn’t seem sensible. But on the web, you have dozens of people selling the exact same products in almost the exact same way. And they are making money.
Some try and say “This doesn’t work, there are already to many of the same online. It’s saturated.”
But the ones who are succeeding Believe in themselves and their ability to succeed. They think “If its working for others, I believe I can make it work for myself as well.”
I could be wrong and maybe I am just the greatest and most well know coach on the planet, and that is why you are here on my originally designed blog, reading a post by a master writer. What do you think?
A negative belief in yourself can cripple you and your chances of success.
A positive belief can send you soaring to levels of personal an professional success that you always dreamed of.
In Coaching I work with you to discover what your beliefs are, what your “Inner Critic” is playing in your head. You become aware of the beliefs that are holding you back and through awareness of your strength you create and empower the beliefs that can lead you on the path to success.
Coaching Questions:
What beliefs to you hold about yourself now?
How do these beliefs hinder or support your success?
What would full belief in yourself look like?
What would full belief in yourself feel like?
What is the next step for you?
If you would like to receive coaching around your “Inner Critic” and hindering beliefs, feel free to connect with me on Twitter, sign up for my Coaching Tips, or email me at robmoshe (at) gmail (dot) com

Are You Intentional About Your Success?

In a coaching session we often start with an Attunement. If you would like to do that. Before you read further listen to this above piece of music. Really listen. As you listen discover the message that the music is giving you.
Music is truly amazing. In five minutes a musical piece can say more that an entire novel. Music has the ability to cut right through you and touch your deepest essence. Whatever your mood is at a given moment, music can instantly change it. When you are feeling down, or want to have MORE fun, or need more courage, the right piece of music can take you there.
For years marketers have know about the controlling power of music. They use it to entice you, excite you, and even scare you. They are always looking for ways to persuade you with music.
But how often do you use music to persuade yourself?
Do you actively use songs to effect your mood?
I have certain songs that I either humm, sing in my head or out loud or listen to when I need a mood modification.
Feeling Down and Defeated. -When I’m Up I Can’t Get Down – Great Big C
When I need to persevere. – Chariots of fire – Vangelis
When I need to give it my all. – Theme Song to Rocky
Coaching Questions:
What are your most empowering songs?
What message do these songs hold for you?
How can you use your songs to guide you in your days?
How will they serve you in achieving your life goals?

Check out an oldie but goodie:

     or
Imagine buying the latest best seller and when you open it up you see a bunch of hand written pages. Incoherent structure, spelling and grammatical errors, illegible words.
How about watching a movie or play? To many characters, to few characters, confusing story line, no ending.
Or how about building a house of the architects first drawing? Can you say money pit?
Would you fly in a plane that was built using the first draft? Do you think it would get off the ground.
If in all of the above examples it’s a no brain-er that we would want to benefit from the polished copy, with all the editing, testing, and corrections made.
So why in our own lives do we settle for living it in Rough Draft?
It’s Time To Edit:
When it comes to editing written works. We take out our or spelling, grammar and structure tools.
With buildings an machines we take out our math and physics tools.
So what tools do you take out to edit your life?
In Coaching, some of the main life editing tools we help the client develop are the tools of:
When you are clear on your values and strengths, it helps you to clearly define your meta goals. With the awareness of your Inner Critic you are able to become more conscious of when you are sabotaging yourself and moving out of alignment with your life’s objectives.
Though it is difficult to properly cover all these tools in an article. If you are interested there is a questionnaire designed by Dr. Martin Seligman on Authentic Happiness . Under the heading Engagement Questionnaires: there is the VIA Signature Strengths Questionnaire.  The survey helps to give you a sense of your top 24 strengths and is a useful tool in creating strategies to accomplish your goals. I often ask my clients to fill out this survey before we begin coaching.
When you are about to get into a business or organize and area of your life, you can use these four tools to help you decide your next steps.
Using these tools, you can take the Rough Drafts of your life and edit them to polished perfection.
Coaching Questions:
Do I know what my top Values and Strengths are?
What are MY Meta-Goals?
How might my Inner Critic be interfering with my goals?
Does my current plan align with my top Values?
How can I design a strategy that works to my strengths?
