Remove The Garbage And Clutter, Then Move Forward.

Business 1 Comment »

Imagine having a new home built. The day finally arrives, the builder calls you up to tell you that your house is finished and you can move in.

You call the moving companies load up the trucks and head over to your new home. When you get there you notice that there is dust all over everything from all the sanding and sawing that was done. also there is dirt and debris all over the floor from that workers coming in an out of the house. Lastly there are drop cloths, plastic, tape and tools everywhere.

So what do you do? Obviously you just begin to move in. You put all your dishes in the cupboards and drawers, put in all the furniture, and hang the pictures and blinds, and then when that is all done you can enjoy the beauty of your new home.

I agree if you saw someone doing that you would think they were quite off. So why is it when we want to start getting our life on track we always try to build it on top of all the dirt and clutter?

Take a look at your workspace. Is there clutter everywhere? Are there thousands of emails that need to be deleted, computer and paper files that need to be purged and organized? Outdated books and magazines that need to be trashed? Office drawers that are so full and messy that every time you try to take something out your hand gets stuck in the tangle?

We have to be a little crazy to think that we can effectively start new projects when we have all the clutter and chaos around us. You need to start from a rock solid foundation. Doing so will help you to focus on your task and be clearer in your thinking.

Before you begin to take on that new challenge, take a day or two to clean house, get things in order and once you have it all together begin to plan forward. You will be amazed at how much more productive you are and how much more ease there is in the entire process.

Coaching Questions:

  • How will I feel when I have “Cleaned House”?
  • How will “Cleaning House” help me to accomplish my goals?
  • What clutter do I need to get rid of to clear my space and mind, so I can move forward on my next project.
  • What have I not looked at in years and will probably never look at again, can I toss it?

Wise Fathers Series - Transmitting, Receiving And Setting The Foundations For Success

Wise Fathers Series

There is a book that I continually read throughout the years. It is a book of sage wisdom that is over 1800 years old. Though the focus in the book is Religious/Spiritual, I have always found that a “Truth” is a “Truth”. It does not only apply in one specific area of life. It applies across the full spectrum of life and activities.

My hope is to share these insights daily. I hope you enjoy.

Transmitting, Receiving And Setting The Foundations For Success

The Wisdom Is Out There. It Being Transmitted Continually

King Solomon said “There is nothing new under the sun”

When we discover something in the tangible world, it may be new to us, but is was always there. Even when we have a new awareness in the world of thought, again it was already there, its just that we are discovering it for the first time.

Our world and existence is such a great gift. If we are willing to open up our mind and our senses we can learn so much from all that happens around us.

For example. I was thinking about the Butterfly Effect the other day. If it weren’t for the butterfly effect we would be able to predict the whether perfectly. But alas we never know when one of these random variable will pop up to change everything.

What can we learn from this? We are often told by others “I have the perfect system. Do it exactly as I tell you and you will succeed” or we see people having a beautiful relationship and we try to mimic it but don’t get the same results. In our lives there is no such thing as carbon copy, because we are the Butterfly in the equation. In anything that we learn and plan, we have to remember that we are the unique variable that always pops up and have to plan for accordingly.

So if the wisdom is out there how do we receive it?

Take two radios. One from the 50’s and one from the present day. Put them both to the same station. You will notice a massive difference in the quality. But why?  They are both receiving the same transmission.

The better the receiver the more clear the transmission.

Lets switch to a water analogy.

What would define a quality container for water?

The container should:

  • Be empty. So it can fully receive the water.
  • Be clean so it doesn’t impart impurities to the water.
  • Be free of cracks or holes, so no water leaks out.
  • Have a wide opening, so it catches all the water.

Now how can this analogy be applied to us?

Be Empty
- If we are to full of our own ideas and fallacies. we wont have any room to learn anything new, to discover the truths of life.

Be Clean- Garbage in garbage out. When we fill our mind and bodies with garbage in the form of unhealthy foods and thoughts, it is almost impossible to find truth. That is a reason why we see so many failed relationships. People watch TV and try to learn how to have a health relationship from the fantasies that Hollywood creates. And even worse there are now reality shows on relationships that revolve around synthetic, shallow people and their relationships.
If you wouldn’t take the contents of a garbage can, blend it and pour it down your throat, why would you do it with your mind?

Free of Cracks an Holes
-This is about overall character. Actions speak louder than words. You want to act in a way that speaks your desire for a more refined and elevated life. Your speech and actions should be of a refined nature, ie. don’t be a boor. When every other sentence has a four letter word, you are announcing to the world that you are not capable of refined thinking, you are seen as a fool. When you treat others in a degrading way, you lower yourself in that eyes of others.

Wide Open - You have to have an open mind to what is happening around you. If you are narrow minded in your thinking you will miss all that the universe has to offer.
“Caution”. Being open minded does not mean trying and thinking about unhealthy things. It means creating an open state of mind that desires to seek the truths of life.

So I’ve searched for wisdom and I have tried to make myself a fitting reciever, what now?

As you gain wisdom and success in life. The greatest gift you can give, is to share it with others.

Truth is often compared to a flame. When you take a candle and light another candle with it, you do not diminish the first flame in any way. The first candle keeps its light and the second candle now has its own light. You could use one candle to light an infinite number of candle and its light would never diminish, and together all those lights would shine as bright as day.

Part of the reason for that title is because I want to test how people respond to different messages. Though there is some truth to the title which I will explain in a moment.

Unfortunately there are many that sit around waiting for a “Free Ride”. One of three things happen to these people.

1. They watch a lot of TV, eat lots of junk food and live sad, boring and meaningless lives.

2. They spend excessive amounts of money on get rich quick scheems, where they “Don’t have to do any work”.

3. Some win the lottery and lose it all within a year. They didn’t know how to handle and appreciate money to begin with, so they go on massive spending sprees buy big houses and cars and then get crushed by mortgage payment, property taxes etc. And then end up back in front of the TV on welfare.

I personally do not beleive in the “Free Ride”. I put in a good effort for my success and when I accomplish I appreciate the rewards and I feel good.

I have worked hard and built a successful online business www.label-land.com. When I built the business it was not because I was interested in Labels. It was because I wanted to get into coaching and consulting. I figured the best way was to prove myself first. In three years I took the biz from $0 to over $100,000 a year in income.

Now some of you might be thinking “I can’t wait three years, I want it now”.  If you are building an online business from scratch I will be glad to help you skip many of the mistakes I made along the way so it will take less time. If you are doing a Direct Marketing type biz, applying the proper tools and working hard you can probably cut the time in half.

If you don’t want to do any work you can always grab a coke and a bag of chips and watch sitcoms and infomertials.

Now about the free business building.

I will do four things for you.

1. I will be putting together a series of short 5-7 minute videos to help you with building an online business.

2. I will blog regularly with insight on how to move forward in your business and your life.

3. I will introduce you to others that can help you on your journey.

4. I will offer you a free 30 min cosulting or 1hr coaching session, to help you grow you and your business.

Once you have this Free information you will have to…Ready for this…..WORK. Yup you will have to actually make the effort for your success, but I believe you can do it.

What Your New Weeks Resolutions?

A better life, Business, Short Thoughts 1 Comment »

You read it correctly. It’s not a typo.
Why is it that people feel that they can make a declaration of their intentions once a year, and all will come to fruition?

If repetition is the mother of learning, then we are going to have to be a little more repetitive about our desires and intentions.

I don’t know about you, but there have been numerous times were I come up with a great post idea, only to have it disappear in my busy mind, because I forgot to lock it in.

If things only had to be stated once to be remembered, day planners would cease to exist.

If you want to achieve, yearly, monthly, weekly and daily objectives, you need to be intentional about what you want and how you are going about doing so.

Here is a 4 step process that you can use to really move forward.

1. Create four folders labeled: 5 year, This year, This Month, and This Week

2. Reflect on what goals you would like in your “Five year” and “This Year” folders.

3. In your “This Month” Folder determine your strategies for the comming month to help you reach your mid to long range goals.

4. In “This Week” Plan out your coming week with your meetings, and actions for the week to help you reach your “This Month”, mid and long term goals.

If you are going to resolve to do something once a year you might as well not bother even making the statement.

If you are going to resolve to do something 52 weeks a year, you are going to succeed.
