The CEO Of YOU

The last few weeks have been both exciting and hectic for me.  I have been working to redefine my overall game plan towards optimal life fulfillment and at the same time I have been trying to manage the events happening around me.  One of the big things taking place has been a major transition on a board that I am involved with.  The board, a small number of people who are both passionate and hard working, has unfortunately not been run optimally and as a result is suffering some major financial and structural chaos.  The decision was to completely renew the board. To have the old step down completely and allow a new board with fresh ideas and capabilities, unburdened by the mistakes and bad habits of the past to help rebuild the organization.

One of the big messages that I passed on to the new board is the need for a full day of strategic planning.

Up until now the current board in their 8 yr. history had never taken this step. They functioned on random meetings late at night.  As a result they never had the benefit of creating a clear map that would carry them from year to year.

It is this day of strategic planning that allows a company clearly focus themselves on the intentions for the year ahead.  There is reflection on the past year, focus no the long term objectives and planning for the present in order to fulfill their mission.

You would be hard pressed to find a successful company that does not have this Annual Meeting.

So my question is;

If it works for top companies, can it work for you?

Imagine what it would be like if you took a full day to plan your personal year.  To reflect on the year past, to assess your personal, family and work goals.  To determine the best game plan to help you towards your objectives, and to set a solid action plan for the year ahead.

Moving forward from that day you would have a clear sense of how your days ahead will be. You will not have to worry about endless wasted days throughout your year. You will have the opportunity to live your days completely on purpose.

Tell me what you think about an annual personal planning day. How do you think it could impact your life?

Rob Moshe
I am really passionate about coaching.

From day one when I started my program back in 2007,  I knew that I had finally found something that truly connected to who I am.

I love helping people grow ~ Through coaching I am able to show you that  you are creative, resourceful and whole. I am able to coach you towards strategies for success in life that are perfectly suited for your unique self. And above all the coaching process creates independence. You cultivate the path of self-directed learning and are able to carry yourself forward without my constant support.

I love the newness of change ~ I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit. I love to build, created and improve. I love to go against the grain.  I am energized when I have to work hard to bring something into being.  I don’t enjoy sameness, stagnation or monotonous tasks.  Coaching truly indulges my entrepreneurial nature.  Each coaching relationship brings with it a newness, for when in comes to our thinking processes no two people are remotely the same.  As a coach I get to enjoy learning from you as well.  I see new ways of looking at the world, new perspectives.  As well I have the privileged of coaching this greatness out of you.  Coaching you to realize all the potential that you have access to.

Getting More Fiber In Your Life

Squash

Thought I would try something different in this post.
Usually I try to share an idea (could be read as “opinion) that I have been thinking about.  The struggle that I have had with this in the past two years is, as a Coach I don’t give advice, or tell my clients what to do.  What I do is facilitate my clients own learning. I help them draw from the vast storehouse of knowledge that dwells in their Mind/Heart/Soul.  I ask questions that get them thinking and get them to go deeper.

So how can I balance my blogger idea sharing personal with my coaching persona?

What I want to try in this post is just to share my personal learning that I had today. It is a lesson for me. If it resonates with you great. If not that is perfectly fine. We are all unique.

Now about the Fiber:

Today I had an interesting Squash game.  For the past month I have been making a solid effort to eat healthier and exercise more.  I had expected that I would see drastic improvements in my Squash game but it didn’t seem to be happening just yet. I thought that my current exercise regime might be a bit taxing on my muscles and as a result effecting my swing.  But today I decided to stop focusing on what was not working and instead try to get more positive. I decided to Believe in my ability to win.  And you know what…. I lost the next four games.

Positive Mental Attitude = NADA

My lesson to self from the previous day was Get Centered. So I took a moment to center myself and thought a bit about my approach.  Then a thought popped into my head.  Don’t just believe it in my head, believe it in every fiber of my being.

Positive Mental Attitude In Every Fiber Of My Being = WOW

The next couple of games I was on fire. I went from being clobbered by my opponent to vaporizing him.

The experience was amazing. I could literally feel the energy in every part of my body. Mentally I was insanely alert. My body just flowed and my skin tingled in this incredibly focused state.

As I walked off the court I reflected on the impact of applying this to other areas of my life. The possibilities were endless.

If you have had a similar experience I would love to hear about it.

Punctuality. It’s More Than Just A Good Habit.

Business 3 Comments »

Just a short note on punctuality. Don’t want anyone to be late because of reading this.

Very often when it comes to being on time for an appointment or meeting, we perceive things from the “me” perspective.

I want to be on time because it shows I’m reliable, efficient and a man of my word.

I don’t want to be late, because he/she/they will think badly of me.

But we can also look at things from the “them” perspective.

When you arrive on time you demonstrate that you respect the other person, and that you value their time. When you’re late, you demonstrate the exact opposite.

A good way to develop the habit of punctuality is to reflect on the times that people have kept you waiting, and what ill effects it caused. Maybe it threw the rest of your day’s meetings off, or it caused you to be late for your child’s baseball game, or you missed your favorite show. Then the next time you have an appointment, take the time to realize how your being late could effect the other person.

In today’s high tech age it is easy to get thrown off. One more cell phone call, or text message, or tweet. Value the time of the people you set appointments with. It will really pay off.

Now hurry up and be on time!
