There is a incredibly sophisticated media company out there. It runs 24/7, it broadcasts audio, video and text, and anyone in proximity to the transmission has no choice but to tune in. The amazing thing is that one person runs the entire show. That person, is the producer, marketer, DJ, VJ, and administrator at the same time. And even more amazing is the seamless effort this person has in running the media company. That person is you and the media company is YOU.

With out being conscious of it we are continually broadcasting our persona to the world. Whether we are happy or sad, poor or wealthy, the people we interact with consciously or unconsciously tune into and get caught up in the action/comedy/drama of our life.

Have you ever noticed how when you start your day off on the wrong foot, everyone around you seems to be a grump, or how you think about a person when you see them dressed to the nines or dressed like a gangster.

This is not only limited to our speaking and our appearance, as bloggers we are also broadcasting our persona through text. And our readers know that when our work is quality we are in the right state of mind.

Knowing that this is happening gives can give you an edge in your interpersonal interaction. If you are about to have a job interview and you are really nervous. Stand in front of a mirror, give your self your most confident smile, stand tall and confident, and cheer yourself on. Do this until the nervousness is gone and you will see an amazing difference in your interview.
If you are coming home from a lousy day at the office, be aware of it, to prevent strife in the home. Stay outside for a few minutes and reflect on the bigger picture. Focus on the things in your life that you are grateful for, that bring you joy. Then when you feel the frustration leave you, go inside and enjoy the warmth of your family.

One of the blogs I read in the ProBlogger Group Writing Project was The Engaging Brand by Anna Farmery. She is a “Help You and Your Company Be The Best” consultant. You can feel the excitement and enthusiasm of her persona through her writing.

One of her post that I enjoyed very much was Hospital Thoughts, which shows the effects of our personal broadcasting systems on the heath and wellbeing of the people around us.

After you read that post keep on reading. I know I will.

My Best Chocolate Mocha Frozen Drink Yet. – I Call It Larry.

Blog Reviews, Food, Uncategorized 2 Comments »

My wife and I are coffee shop addicts. Lattes, chillers, frappes (funny sound when it stands alone), and blasts. We love them all, but its a killer on the pocket book. So I being slightly on the frugal side like to try and create these concoctions at home. Today I have created a masterpiece, and I call it “Larry” (I’m not so good at naming drinks).

Larry

1/2 cup boiling water

2 teaspoons instant coffee

1 heaping tablespoon premium hot chocolate mix

1-1 1/2 cups of ice

2 scoops vanilla ice cream

2 teaspoons Starbucks coffee liquor

2 teaspoons Godiva chocolate cream liquor

Combine hot water, instant coffee and hot chocolate mix. Pour in blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend.
Additional water, milk, or soy milk to create desired consistency.

Enjoy.

Well that is pretty much the extent of my creative food ideas, which is probably why I don’t have a food blog.

But I did manage to find some great food related blogs through the ProBlogger Group Writing Progect.

My Korean Kitchen - A “Step by Step” food recipe blog. It is mostly Korean food and Asian style fusion meals.

Sim Cooks – Yich’s Chinese cooking – Tips and Tricks she learned from her mom. Specializing in smaller meals for 1-4 ppl.

Free From… – Tips and recipes on Gluten Free Living/Eating.

Trini Gourmet – Sarina’s mouthwatering Trinidadian ‘fusion’ recipes, international cuisine and everything ‘foodie’ in nature!

Savor the flavors in 2007, and feel free to post links to some of your favorite recipes.

Have a great weekend

Why Are You Thinking About Pink Elephants?

A better life, Blog Reviews, Business, Uncategorized, Your Best Self 1 Comment »

You weren’t thinking about them a minute ago. But now you can’t stop. OK now you can stop thinking of pink elephants. No really stop thinking about it. NO MORE PINK ELEPHANTS. OK I’ll fix it just think of a purple cow. You see problem solved.

This purpose of this was to show that what you focus on will stay stuck in your mind. If you spent a whole week thinking about pink elephants, you would soon start seeing them in every thought. You would count sheep at night and pink elephants would keep jumping in.

It is so important to focus on the right things. If you want to make more money don’t focus on being poor. If you want to find that perfect someone, don’t focus on being alone.

When you send your brain a message it tries to execute it properly. If your bank account has $50 in it, and you tell your brain you have $10,000 in your bank account, it will begin to work on ways to make it happen. If instead you focus on the fact that you are broke, your brain will accommodate you there too. To your messaging and execution center (brain) it makes no difference if you are rich or poor, fat or skinny, It just wants to follow your instructions.

In the ProBlogger writing project I found a blog The Fibromyalgia Experiment by Sarakastic. Sarakastic is a superstar of focusing on the right things. Many a person dealing with similar health challenges, will just give up and whine about their misfortunes. Sarakastic focuses on achievement, success and freedom. You can learn a lot from her.

I would start with reading her post Why I won “Times Person of the Year” and keep on going.

Think about where you want to be, make it the one recurring thought in your mind, and don’t stop thinking about it until you are there.
