The Power Of One

Have you ever gotten into a
great groove.

You worked hard on yourself
all year to reach this point in your life. You are feeling better than great;
you are top of the world.

Then is happens. You have
one bad day that begins the erosion process.
Three weeks later you suddenly become aware that you have fallen from
your tower of accomplishment.

You try to get back on
track, but all your attempts end up flat. All your efforts and accomplishments
of the past year have evaporated.

ARRGGGG

So how can you get your
groove back?

The answer is. ONE

In a world of endless
choices and wants, where we are constantly encouraged to buy more, more and
more, the concept of ONE is totally foreign.

The mind can only hold one
thought at a time. If you don’t believe me at the same time try;

Doing this equation:  1+4+6-9×56/3=

Thinking and spelling a 5
syllable word.

And

Drawing a picture of
anything you want.

When we accept this we can
use it to our advantage.

When you experience setbacks
in your life, trying to fix them all at once is the same as trying to focus on
more than one thought at the same time.

Instead pick one component
that you want to fix and dedicate all your energy to correcting it.

For example if you have
begun;

Eating badly.

Sleeping in.

To Much TV

Not Exercising

Snapping at your
spouse/children

….

Trying to fix it all at once
is the recipe for failure.

Using the Power of One
choose one thing to focus on. In the example above maybe eating better will be
your first thing to focus on. You figure eating better will help give you the
proper energy and vitality to work on whatever comes next.

Dedicate all your energy to
that objective. It might take a number of days until you accomplish the goal
but stay focused on “One”.

Don’t get hung up on the
other areas. Don’t be hard on yourself. Reassure yourself that you are going to
get back on track.

Once you have accomplished
the first goal, move on to the next. Repeat this process until you complete all
your objectives.

One by One you will get
there, and you will find yourself getting there much faster that if you keep on
trying to get there all at once.

Have a great weekend.

While I was writing this
post I hit a button that permanently erased the post (Scribe fire might want to
work on that). Ironically I had to apply the Power of One to this post. Open up
one new page and begin putting down one word at a time. I would have loved to
have it just reappear all at once (with one of those recovery thing), but I
guess in the context of this post if was the perfect.
