Great Medicine Tip For Parents.

I woke up this morning to my 4 year old crying. He had decided to peel an orange with a vegetable peeler. He was unsuccessful at peeling the orange, but managed to peel half his fingernail and a sizable chunk of flesh off his middle finger.

We went to the hospital and the doctor stitched the piece back on. She said that he will be back to full functionality in no time at all.

We got a prescription for antibiotics, which he has to take 4 times a day, which means taking a dose at school.

The prescription is a liquid suspension with an oral syringe.

Here’s the Tip

The pharmacist smartly suggested that she give me and empty bottle with the dose instructions on it and another syringe that we could send to the school. This way we don’t have to worry about sending the medicine back and forth or it getting lost.

Another Tip

We keep all our knives out of reach. I think peelers should go under that category as well.
