Realizing The Value Of A Moment

Imagine that you or a loved one are on their death bed (Go.Fo). It just so happens that you know that the exact moment of death will be at 3:22 and 10sec. 3:22 arrives and you begin to count down 10,9,8,7. Suddenly a masked stranger walks into the room, pulls out a gun, and shoots. Time of death 3:22 and 9sec.

What would your response be?

Would it be let the assailant off, after all you or your loved one would have been dead in the next second?

or

Would it be, prosecute the assailant to the fullest extent of the law and let he spend the rest of his life in jail for murder in the first degree?

The majority if not all would take the second position. Why? Because we realize that those seconds are precious, it may seem like a second is meaningless, but saying “I Love You” takes one second, a parting kiss takes a second, sometimes the best hugs last just one more second. Change happens in just one second!

With this in mind think about your seconds. How are you using them? When you waste your time it is like suicide. Once those seconds are gone you can never get them back.

I was listening to the news yesterday, and they were commenting on the writers strike, and how T.V. will be a let down in the coming months. When asked how this will affect you, one interviewee responded ‘I guess I’ll spend more time with my family. I will probably spend more time putting my kids to bed instead of rushing to watch my show’.
I wished at that moment I could be standing next to the man to slap him upside the head. He had openly stated that he values his TV time over his family time. I’m sure on his death bed he’ll be saying ‘I wish I could have watched just one more episode of ???’.

Your value and success in life will be based on how you live all your moments.

Reflect…..
