Shortly after I started my blog in Nov 06, I was getting a few hundred page views a day. I took an extended vacation (the past six months) and it is like I am starting all over again.
It will probably be weeks or months before someone reads this new post, though you never know it might get read today.

When no one else is looking we are often the most real. We are not self conscious of what other people might thing, because there is no one to look. If a man is in a movie theater at a “chick flick” he might make some stupid male bravado comment. If he is alone at home watching the same scene he might just shed a tear.

When everyone is looking we tend to put up our conforming shield. We are afraid to show others who we truly are, because we fear that they might not like our true self, and the last thing we want to feel is rejection. Don’t fall prey to this fear. We were all put on this planet to shine in our own special way. If you conform the world will become a boring and dark place.

Remember people are still watching. Though it is important to let your real self shine through, remember there are people that are watching. Being real is not about making others uncomfortable or acting like a fool. Be decent, be kind, be respectful, be moral.

As I am sort of at a starting point again, I think I will take this opportunity to revamp a little, to practice these ideals.
I have changed my theme, to something other than the default, something that I like and that has a little of me in it. I am going to clean out some of this early silliness that I had in the beginning (just to get noticed), and I am going to ensure that all my post attempt to express the unique light that is mine to shine.
